I moved to Dexter in 2016 as I found myself coming to Dexter more and more to enjoy the restaurants, trails and wonderful community of our town. My husband Karl, our son and our dog live in Dexter Crossing.
My background started in growing up in Iran and France and finally coming to the United States in 2001. I attended Oakland Community College and then transferred to the University of Michigan where I received my BA in History of Art, MSI in Archives and Records Management and a Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies.
Serving my community is what brought me to Dexter. I started with a neighborhood interfaith devotional gathering getting to know my neighbors and what is important to them. I was able to apply my background of arts and museums to serve on the Arts, Culture and Heritage Committee for 5 years and Chair the Committee for a couple of years. I also served as Dexter Crossing’s HOA President for 2 years to delve into the issues facing our neighbors and be able to assist in making their experience in Dexter better.
After my initial appointment to the Council, I was even more humbled when I was elected to my seat in November 2022. I have strived to learn what is important to our Community, bring those to the Council for discussion, be a good steward of our resources and represent our residents’ wishes on the Council.
I look forward to connecting with you and serving our City and Community.
